Salute Casings
Share
Since my Dad’s Fort Snelling internment, I’ve held on to the casings from his 21 gun salute. At Christmas I made small pendants for my daughters using the firing end. Now I have been thinking about the left overs. The brass casing is pretty thin and not that friendly to work with. I’ve decided upon two plans that they can choose from. I hope to make keychain dingles for the grandsons. One of them (Martin) is named after my Dad.
If you’ve ever been to Fort Snelling for a military internment ceremony you know how emotional and poignant it is.
