Broken Stones

This morning it’s a big time windy day. The grey ice will evaporate and melt with the friction of this wind.
For today’s bit of info I’d like to tell you a little about broken stones. I’ve sure had this happen many many times. If you look closely, you would see that I am wearing the broken stones. I don’t consider them sellable so they are moved to my own jewelry box.
The more inclusions, dendrites, and patterns in the stone the more fragile it is. I have dropped stones on my cement floor and they break. I have used too much pressure when setting, and they break. I’ve dropped a finished piece of jewelry on cement, and they break. Customers that drop their stoned items on cement have them break.
Be careful. My husband is encouraging me to get mats for my shop floor. I just might do that.
